Interactive Online Consulting/Training

Over the last 6 weeks I’ve begun to use some very cool technologies in my Online Consulting and Training work. While I really like the extended features found in meetings hosted with ClickWebinar there are some limitations for using all of its features so I also use GotoMeeting when necessary. Specifically, meetings with ClickWebinar require wired connections for full functionality while GoToMeeting works fine with Wi-Fi. Let’s take a look at the features of each platform.

ClickWebinar/ClickMeeting – Browser based no software DL

This platform has all the interactive elements needed for the most effective OnlineTraining and Consulting I have ever seen or used including:

  • 2-way webcams
  • 2-way audio
  • 2-way screen/mouse control
  • Interactive white boards
  • Stored presentations in a wide variety of formats
  • Ability to annotate presentation materials in real time
  • Personal profile and branded meeting rooms
  • Meeting recording with mp4 DL option
  • Meeting recording editing
  • Persistent meeting URL for ongoing meetings
  • 2 level security with PW and Tokens
  • “On-Air” widget for your website
  • Real time translation for chat
  • Scheduling with reminders
  • Flexible pod style interface like Adobe Connect

There are a few more features that you may investigate as part of the 30 day free trial. Oh, the Clickmeeting 25 option allows for 1 on 1 meetings plus up to 25 attendee meetings/Webinars for $30/mo., making this solution very cost effective for small organizations or individuals.

  • Selected application sharing
  • Desktop recording and playback
  • 128 bit PW encryption for security
  • RT screen drawing tools

I’m still on the 30 day free trial for GotoMeeting, but the plan that is comparable to ClickMeeting 25 is called GoToMeeting Pro and costs $15/mo. I plan to use GoToMeeting for initial consulting discussions or with clients who don’t need the fully interactive ClickMeeting features or who don’t have the wired connections needed to support its bandwidth requirements.

Getting Started

I have added some details to the Consulting page so interested clients can contact me to set up a FREE 30 min intro session with either of these platforms. In this intake session, we will discuss your needs in order to determine the best way to move forward. For payment I will be using Amazon payments or EventBrite tickets options depending on your needs and the scope of the work.

I have a lot of consulting and training experience and some excellent tools in my toolbox. With these new technologies, we are literally at “The dawn of a new age in training”. I am results driven and know how to get things done. Join me!
